Employees of the Fixed Track Transport systems will carry out a four-hour warning strike on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., affecting all lines (Line 1 – former ISAP, Lines 2 & 3 – Metro, Tram Lines) in protest “against the ongoing inaction and inconsistent public statements by the political leadership of the Ministry of Transport.”
Specifically, in their announcement, the employees state that “the work stoppage was decided as an immediate response to repeated public statements by the Deputy Minister of Transport regarding:
- Increases in the salaries of Fixed Track Transport employees,
- Increase of the additional pay rates for night shifts and holidays.”
“These statements come at a time when he emphasizes the ‘cooperation’ of employees for the implementation of 24-hour operation on the Fixed Track Transport. However, to this day, all we see are words, not actions. The legislative provisions concerning these issues are already signed and constitute commitments of the company (STASY) to the employees, as they are included in the latest valid Collective Labor Agreement (CLA 2024-2025).”
“It is unreasonable for the Ministry of Transport and the STASY Administration to pursue full implementation of 24-hour operation, while the following critical issues remain unresolved and open:*
- Staff shortages in all operational and maintenance specialties,
- Lack of availability of trains capable of meeting the transport service requirements,
- Non-recognition of prior experience in the private sector in salary grades for newly hired employees.”
“Despite these major deficiencies, STASY employees give 120% of their capabilities, working hard to provide the best service to passengers, especially under the conditions of 24-hour operation.”
“We are not beggars. We only demand to be able to work with dignity and be paid for our work. We ask for the understanding of the passengers for the inconvenience they will experience during the hours of the work stoppage. Our struggle is also a struggle for the upgrading of fixed-track transport for the benefit of all citizens.”
“The STASY Administration and the political leadership must take responsibility toward the employees and immediately fulfill their commitments.”
