Despite the incredible reception from Partizan fans at Belgrade airport Thursday night, legendary Serbian coach Željko Obradović remains steadfast in his decision to step down.
On Friday, the club’s management held a lengthy three-hour meeting with Obradović, but no breakthrough was reached.
Obradović isn’t changing his stance, even though the management offered him full control over team decisions to steer Partizan back to winning ways.
Serbian media report a final meeting between the two sides will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday, while the team is set to resume training Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Partizan announced the end of its collaboration with Zoran Savic, who has served as the club’s sports director since 2021.
Partizan’s Official Statement
“Partizan sports director Zoran Savic and the club’s management have mutually agreed to part ways.
Savic joined the club in spring 2021 and has since been instrumental in team building and managing all sporting affairs.
During his tenure, Partizan secured a spot in Europe’s top club competition, won two ABA League titles, the Serbian Championship, and reached the EuroLeague playoffs.
Thank you, Zoran, for everything!”
