Pornhub, the popular adult video website, released a detailed review of 2025, revealing the most searched categories, country preferences, user demographics, and how national holidays and New Year’s impact site traffic.

In the US and Australia, lesbian content was most popular, while Canadians preferred “mature women.” Greenland and Scandinavian countries favored transgender videos. Brazilians leaned towards “Brazilian” category content, northern South American countries mostly watched “Ebony,” and along the west coast and southern regions, “Anal” was the top pick. Spain and Portugal also favored “Anal,” France went for “French,” Italy for “Italian,” and Germany for “German” categories.
In Africa, “Arab” content dominated the north, with “Ebony” being most viewed in the rest of the continent—except Sudan, where “Lesbian” was preferred, and Somalia, where “Indian” was the top category.
Top Searches and Countries with Highest Traffic
For the fifth year in a row, the term “hentai” was the most searched, followed closely by “milf.” Hentai refers to a type of Japanese manga and anime known for highly sexualized characters.
The United States remains the biggest source of Pornhub traffic, with Mexico rising to second place. France dropped four spots following new restrictions, while the Philippines, Brazil, Germany, and the UK rounded out the top countries, though the UK fell three places in 2025.
User Demographics: The Magic Number 38
The average age of Pornhub visitors is 38 years old, unchanged from 2024. The 18-24 age group makes up 29% of users, increasing by 2% from last year, while those aged 25-34 account for 23%, a slight decrease. Together, these two groups represent over half of the total traffic.
Other age groups include 35-44 (17%), 45-54 (14%), 55-64 (10%), and 65+ (7%).
How Holidays Affect Pornhub Traffic
The report showed once again that national holidays and New Year’s Eve significantly reduce site visits. Italy experienced the largest drop (-33.8%) on the Assumption of Mary holiday, followed by Poland’s Easter Sunday (-31%), and Chile during its Fiestas Patrias (-30.5%).
New Year’s Eve also caused a notable decline, especially from 6 PM on December 31st. Colombia saw the biggest dip (-65%), followed by the Philippines (-61%) and Chile (-60%). Egypt had a much smaller drop (-11%), likely because it follows the Muslim calendar and celebrates the new year on a different day.
