Over 240 offences were recorded for drivers who had consumed alcohol

As part of targeted actions and traffic controls by the DirectorateTraffic Police Attica for the prevention of drunk driving, a special excursion was carried out during the period from the early morning hours of 24 December 2025 to the early morning hours of today (27-12-2025), throughout the Attica prefecture, in which police officers of the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Teams (O.E.E.P.T.A.) and Traffic Departments of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate.

In this context -24,210 checks were carried out, and 248 offences were recorded for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 8 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol with a reading of more than 0.60 mg/l. Checks to prevent drunk driving will continue unabated.
