Specifically, the prosecutor’s office ordered a criminal investigation to examine whether the offence of provoking and advertising drugs or some other offence has been committed.

In particular, during his participation in a podcast, the former finance minister of the SYRIZA government made personal revelations, stating, among other things, that he had once used ecstasy, while stating that he prefers pot, which he described as “more pleasant”.

The video of Varoufakis’ above statements was read out to the prosecution by the Hellenic Police.
