AHI President highlights U.S.–Greece relations and hosts key Hellenic leaders in Washington

WASHINGTON, DC — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) continued its active engagement in strengthening U.S.–Greece relations in early February, with President Nick Larigakis participating in high-level policy discussions and hosting prominent Hellenic leaders at Hellenic House

On February 2, 2026, Larigakis attended an invitation-only working dinner held in conjunction with the Delphi Economic Forum Washington, D.C. The discussion focused on the theme “Soft Power: How Trade Relations, Investment Opportunities, and Defense Co-production Are Enhancing the Bilateral Relationship.”

The dinner convened senior government officials, policy experts, and business leaders, offering a forum to examine how economic cooperation, strategic investment, and defense collaboration are reinforcing the U.S.–Greece partnership. During the discussion, Larigakis shared perspectives on the importance of leveraging soft power to deepen bilateral ties and advance shared strategic interests.

In parallel with these engagements, AHI also welcomed two distinguished visitors to Hellenic House in early February for meetings with President Larigakis.

The visitors included Dr. Maximos Charakopoulos, Secretary General of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy and Member of the Hellenic Parliament, as well as John Saracakis, President of the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Greece.

The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest, including parliamentary diplomacy, economic cooperation, and the role of the Greek diaspora in strengthening transatlantic relations.

Through participation in international forums and direct engagement with policymakers and business leaders, AHI reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a strong, strategic, and values-based relationship between the United States and Greece.
