Footage capturing the moment Israeli citizens in Tel Aviv head toward shelters was recorded by the camera of protothema.gr, after once again sirens were heard and a warning message was sent to the mobile phones of those who were in the Israeli capital.
In the shots from inside one of the shelters, the great depth below the Earth’s surface can be seen, while upon entry the particularly thick metal security doors close behind them. Inside, people sit in an orderly manner until the danger passes.
After citizens received alerts on their mobile phones and after the sirens sounded, those who were in the city center entered the shelters, and thus the streets and sidewalks were emptied even in the busiest areas.
The search for safe shelter by Israelis is carried out in a coordinated way, as in recent years it has become routine; nevertheless, fear and anxiety about what will follow are evident.
It is noted that just last night alone, in the wider area of central Israel, sirens were heard more than 90 times.
