Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the new collective labor agreement in the food service sector in a video uploaded to his social media accounts.

Holding a cup of coffee, Mitsotakis announces that he has… news for those watching the video who work in food service or have a friend who works in the sector.

“A new collective labor agreement in the food service sector has been signed. What does this mean in simple terms: increases in your wages—we’re talking about increases of over 6% up to 25% in the minimum wage,” the Prime Minister initially says, continuing with the changes brought by the agreement:

“The minimum wage in food service is now set between €930 and €1,100, along with bonuses of up to 10% for seasonal work and up to 15% for tourism-related training.”

It concerns 400,000 workers

As he notes, this development concerns 400,000 workers, meaning about 15% of salaried employees in the country.

“This is only the beginning. With the new collective labor agreement signed between employers and employees, we are actively supporting workers in the food service sector,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis concludes.
