A shocking case in Italy involves a 32-year-old tourist from Colombia, who reported that she was kidnapped and repeatedly raped by illegal immigrants over a three-day period in the outskirts of Rome.
According to Italian authorities, the woman arrived in the Italian capital in early May and, on the 19th of the month, was near Termini railway station, where she met a man who allegedly lured her under the pretext of buying drugs.
Shortly afterward, as reported by the Daily Mail, the 32-year-old was abducted and taken to an abandoned building in the Tor Cervara area, in the eastern suburbs of the city.
72 hours of captivity and abuse
There, according to findings from the investigation, she was held against her will for about 72 hours. During this time, she repeatedly gang-raped by a group of men, was reportedly forced to take drugs, and then received death threats.
The perpetrators also took her phone and wallet.
The woman eventually managed to escape and was found in a bad condition by a passing driver, who took her to Casilino hospital. Doctors identified injuries consistent with sexual assault and immediately alerted the police.

Police operation and arrests
The Italian police investigation led within days to the identification and arrest of five illegal immigrant suspects, who are charged with aggravated gang rape. Authorities are also continuing investigations to identify other individuals who may be involved.
22 illegal immigrants found in the building
During a police operation in the building where the woman was held, authorities found a total of 22 migrants living there illegally. Deportation proceedings were initiated for 11 of them. Among them were the five men identified by the victim as the perpetrators of the attack.
The case has sparked strong reactions in Italy, while authorities continue their investigation.
