The New Democracy party comes first with small gains compared to May in an Alco poll for the website Flash.gr, with the ΕLΑΣ of Alexis Tsipras in second place, followed by PASOK and “Hope for Democracy”.
Specifically, in voting intention among valid responses, New Democracy records 24% (23.5% in May), ΕLΑΣ 14.7% (12.8% in May), PASOK 10.4% (10% in May), “Hope for Democracy” 7.8% (9.5% in May), Hellenic Solution 6.7% (6.3%), Communist Party of Greece 6.4% (6.4%), Course of Freedom 3.1% (3.2%), MERA25 and Voice of Reason 2.3% (2.6% and 2.7% respectively in May), SYRIZA 1.3% (1.5%), and “Democrats” 1% (0.8%).
According to the poll, 28% believe the dominant dilemma of the next elections will be “stability–ungovernability” and 64% “transparency–corruption”, with inflation identified as the problem requiring the most immediate response, followed by the functioning of institutions and transparency.
Respondents in the poll were also asked to state the emotions created by the prospect of a third government term for Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the formation of a government with a core either from PASOK or from the ΕLΑΣ of Alexis Tsipras.
For Antonis Samaras, 79% say it is “not at all” or “a little” likely they would vote for a potential Samaras party, while 11% say “quite” or “somewhat”.
Finally, 21% say that if New Democracy is first party but without an absolute majority, they would want it to cooperate with PASOK, followed by Hellenic Solution with 9%, Voice of Reason with 4%, and ΕLΑΣ with the same percentage.
