A 42-year-old basketball player, who was serving as a chief warrant officer in the Hellenic Air Force, died in Schimatari at the stadium of Schimatarios in Boeotia.

After the end of the match the 42-year-old, who was competing with the Air Force, headed to the locker room to change.

There his wife found him on the floor.

First aid was performed including chest massaging, while the match doctor tried to revive him with the defibrillator, but to no avail. The 42-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
