Guardian’s journalist Andrew Bostock published an extensive article on Kythira praising its unique beauty, the marvelous beaches and the amazing scenery.

Bostock has visited about 40 Greek islands trying to find the perfect island and according to him he finally found it and it’s Kythira.

Unlike the other islands which are overcrowded during the summer period, Kythira has fewer tourists since it is quite difficult to approach it. But, this is an advantage according to Bostock who doesn’t like the islands which are full of tourists.

In his article, he describes the beautiful new port of Diakofti with its disconcerting shipwreck , the picturesque Mylopotamos village with its ponds and fairy waterfalls, the numerous marvelous beaches, such as Kalami and Kaladi.

Bostock also mentions Hora, the beautiful capital of the island, which is set on a hill above its port of Kapsali and the local cuisine.
