During the press conference, Kostas Katsouranis and Andreas Samaris stressed that all the players are determined to do their best to score and expressed their belief that they can win the fight against the Ivory Coast and be among the 16 teams of World Cup.
“You can’t be on the top ten of the world only with draws. We have won matches and have achieved great victories in all competitions. We can do it again” said Kostas Katsouranis, who referred particularly to the criticism the team received regarding the problems in attack.
Andreas Samaris added: “We have a great opportunity on Tuesday. This is the final for both teams and Greece is made for such matches. We have are not used to such weather conditions. The heat and humidity poses some problems to our players. We want to play good defence, but also to score a goal and win the match”.
Also, Kostas Manolas and Kostas Mitroglou are okay and are able to play.
If Greece manage to win, then it will pass to the next phase where Greek players will face Costa Rica on June 29.
