The election committee of New Democracy will reconvene at 09.30 on Saturday to decide on whether to accept the rejected fourth candidacy of New Democracy MP Adonis Georgiadis, after disapproving comments from all three candidates and the former ND leader Antonis Samaras.

The committee would probably accept the candidancy of Mr. Georgiadis, according to some of its members. Earlier, candidates Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Apostolos Tzitzikostas said the decision of the committee to reject the fourth candidacy because it missed the deadline was unfair and an unnecessary formality.

Also, former prime minister Samaras described the decision as “false and traumatic for New democracy”.
