Shock in the early hours of Tuesday as a little girl, aged 4, died at Venizelio Hospital at Herakleion Crete after a routine operation to remove adenoids.

Following complications the girl was taken to METH University Hospital where doctors tried to keep her alive.

The young girl’s father is seeking to know exactly what went wrong and how his daughter died when she had no allergies.

An autopsy is underway.
