Police in Munich evacuated two major railway stations after a “friendly intelligence agency” warned Germany of an impending ISIS attack, said Bavaria’s interior minister Joachim Herrmann.
As he said, German authorities received information that suicide bombers from Islamic State would target the central station or Pasing station.
Munich police was on alert just hours before midnight warning citizens to stay away from crowds.
“I am happy that nothing has so far happened and I hope it stays that way,” said Mr. Herrmann.
According to Munich’s police chief Hubertus Andra, between five and seven ISIS militants were thought to be planning an attack, as BBC reports.
Local media reports say the information had come from French and US authorities.
Both stations have since reopened, police tweeted.
