A total of 485 investment plans with a total budget of 2.6 billion euros will be eligible for help during the first round of subsidies under the developmental law for 2014, Deputy Development and Competitiveness Minister Notis Mitarakis said in an announcement on Tuesday.

The final charts of eligible investments, which will receive 922 million euros in financial support and are expected to general 2,491 new jobs, were posted by the General Directorate for Private Investments on Monday. The score charts for the investment plans were posted in just three months – a record for the specific evaluation procedure. The charts have been posted on the government’s diavgeia website and the website www.ependyseis.gr.

Mitarakis thanked the staff at the ministry for their hard work under tight deadlines and said that the record number of applications received in the first period of 2014 proved that Greek businesses were getting over the crisis and recovering their daring. He said that the new goal for the second half of the year was to submit a new and improved developmental law, as required by the new European framework and the full absorption through payments of all the available funds – as had been achieved in 2013.

The plans approved include 38 in the primary production sector (27.746 million euros), 311 in manufacturing (564.452 million euros), 109 in tourism (284.834 million euros), 26 in services (45.055 million euros).
