Greek Prime Minister reiterated the need for the immediate conclusion of the first program review in an interview with Star TV late on Monday, but without being able to answer on when the representatives of the institutions will return to Athens.

Mr. Tsipras appeared more willing to make compromises without ruling out the possibility of accepting pension cuts starting from pensions of 1,400 – 1,500 euros. “Defending the pensions of 3,000 euros is not included in my “red lines” list,” he said mentioning also that “our goal is to avoid reducing pensions of 1,400 euros”.

He said that the government’s main concern was to protect the vast majority of 600 to 1,200 euros pension, implying that the government is ready to start making significant concessions in order to conclude the negotiation talks.
