A migrant tried to set himself on fire in downtown Athens, Thursday. The individual was a member of the group that marched towards Syntagma Square, Wednesday with the intent to squat outside the Greek parliament, before they reconsidered after being threatened by police with deportation. Although most of the group returned to Piraeus, one of them remained in Athens and climbed onto a rubbish bin, threatening to set himself ablaze. Police were called on the scene and managed to persuade him to leave.
