First solo exhibition of the king of shock Juergen Teller at Deste Foundation

Teller’s solo exhibition, the first one in Greece, is scheduled to open at the DESTE Foundation in Athens on June 20, 2014, as it was announced today on the website of the foundation.
Teller was born in Berlin and he was one of the most influential photographers in the 90s.

Sexual, provocative, free-thinking Teller opened new paths for modern fashion photography rejecting traditional rules and photographing his subjects without make-up, vulnerable and in carefree poses.

He has photographed almost everyone from Kate Moss to Bjork. Switching from fashion photography to art photography, Teller photographs with the same mastery an octopus on an iron bed in Hydra or naked Lily Cole on a dirt road or the daughter of Kate Moss, Lila Grace hitting her mother in the face.

Simple, with a great sense of humor and a love for Greece, Teller will present his new work in an exhibition at Deste Foundation which will run from 20 June to 20 October.
