Demand by British tourists for Greece is high, according to Thomas Cook, the second largest tour operator in Europe. The group announced the rise in demand for Greece by its customers contributed to the aggregate increase in its overall booking by 10%. CEO Peter Fankhauser said the group’s decision to extend its holiday offer to Greece had resulted in a rise in overall demand. Apart from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Croatia also recorded a rise in demand, while the group has noticed a return of interest for Egypt and Turkey. Thomas Cook’s 2017 summer packages have sold covered a 47%, a 1& rise compared to last season’s. As far as the United Kingdom, the bookings remain at similar levels as last year, while low demand for Turkey was balanced out by an increase in demand for Spain and the Canary Islands.
