Popular actor and current Mayor of Stylida, Apostolos Gletsos, had announced the creation of a party when he was re-elected as mayor of the town that is 15 kilometers east of Lamia. At the time, many people thought that his statements were a communication ploy that would fall by the wayside, however Mr. Gletsos wasted no time announcing his collaboration with journalist Semina Digeni and outlined the new party’s positions on Ms. Digeni’s site –  mediasoup.gr.

The new party, called “Teleia” (meaning “period” or “full stop”) is aiming to reinstate values in politics and bring about moral regeneration, according to the text of its founding principles. Central to the party’s new beliefs is the support of collective autonomy. It makes specific mention of combatting poverty and social exclusion.

Teleia supports the values that lead to the creation of a united Europe however deplores the subjugation to a new form of serfdom.  Indeed, in its announcement, the party stated that it would struggle to bring back all the young people that left Greece as a result of the crisis.
