Turkey has suspended the operation of its embassy in the Libyan capital, two weeks after the Turkish diplomacy urged Turks to flee the North African country because of the deteriorating lawlessness that prevails there.
Speaking to Reuters on Wednesday the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu, said that “due to certain security risks,” the country has suspended its activities in Benghazi, Tripoli, as well as in many other countries.
“The General Consul in Misrata continues to perform his duties. We also have a team in Tunisia which monitors all developments. All citizens have been removed “from the territory of Libya, at least” those who wanted to leave ” stated Davutoglu.
