The General Secretariat of Public Revenue is set to issue new single property ENFIA tax payment charges to over 6 million property owners. Ta Nea daily newspaper reports that 800,000 taxpayers will be called to pay less than originally charged but it is still unclear how many installments these payments will be made in.

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) has given the government leeway to impose the tax by March 2015 but it is still unclear whether the government will make use of this by introducing extra installments.

Changes will be decided upon when the third session of Parliament opens. The erroneous charges have already caused the coalition government a headache with accusations that the ENFIA tax doesn’t reflect Greek reality.
