In an online consultation regarding the topic of abolishing daylight savings, respondents in the European Union were overwhelmingly in favor of nixing the twice a year clock change. The public consultation had the highest number of responses ever received in any EU Commission public consultation. As to why so many Europeans dislike daylight saving time, the Commission pointed to the adverse health effects as a potential reason for not liking the practice.
