Italy emerges as the most popular luxury holiday destination, Chanel as the leading luxury brand and free wireless internet better than free breakfast! This results from the survey of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) on new trends in luxury tourism, held during June and July 2014, involving more than 13000 visitors to SLH hotels around the world.
Luxury travel preferences show that French firms are for the second consecutive year in the top of the list of the most popular luxury brands. Chanel achieved first place followed by Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Hermés. Among the rest top brands are Prada, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Italy has achieved first place amongst luxury destinations follow by France while the Maldives occupy the third position.
Regarding room facilities and Mini Bar amenities the majority of people chose a Nespresso coffee machine as their favourite, followed by an iPod station. The favorite brand in the Mini Bar itself was Coca-Cola except for the British, Russians and Australians. British people chose Bombay Sapphire, Russians chose Evian and Australians chose champagne Moët & Chandon.
