Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that hopefully  the peace – keeping process  will commence on Friday for the eastern provinces of the country in Minsk, Belarus and called on politicians to support these talks.

“I really hope thethe  peace – keeping  process will commence on Friday in Minsk. The people of Ukraine commit to peace while politicians want to play with war. I want to stress that we will not let that happen, “he said in a statement.

Representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the so called “contact group” – will meet on Friday in Minsk with the hope that these contacts will lead to the end of the conflict, which continues for six months now, between the army and pro-Russian separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine.
