Russia is ready to begin negotiations with Ukraine on the issue of natural gas

Bedvedev stated that Moscow will begin to supply natural gas to its neighbor country, only if Kiev pay in full its "astronomical debt" and agrees to a higher price from the one that already has proposed

Newsroom September 3 10:21

Today Russia announced that is ready to begin negotiations with Ukraine on the issue of natural gas price, with the condition that Kiev will pay in full its debt.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Bedveden, responding to Ukraine’s proposition on paying natural gas on reasonable price, stated that Moscow will begin to supply natural gas to its neighbor country, only if Kiev pay in full its “astronomical debt” and agrees to a higher price from the one that already has proposed.
Earlier today the Russian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk suggested for his country to pay Moscow 385 dollars for every 1.000 cubic meters of gas during winter and 300 dollars during the summer period.
Bedvedev rejected this price, estimating that it is very low, while he added that Ukraine should pay over 385 dollars per cubic meter of gas.

Russia had stopped the supply of natural gas to Ukraine back in July, due to a price disagreement. Yatseniuk commenting to the energy problems of his country, stated that in order for Ukraine to be able to cover its annual needs, more than 25 billion cubic meters of gas are needed.
