Greece beat Argentina in yesterday’s match by 79-71 and passed to the next phase without loosing a single game and climbed to the top of Group B.

Greek players will face now Serbia for the “16” of the World Cup which will be held in Madrid.

The match between the two teams was intense and delightful. Both teams wanted winning and made their best to achieve it, even though they had their good and bad moments.

Greece proved once more that it is a great team and should be considered as a strong opponent.

The match started with Greece having the lead while Argentina missed a lot of points basically due to the good defense developed by Greek players with the score being formed at 28-16 in favor of Greece for the first quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, Greek players were not concentrated letting Argentina to play their game. However, Greece came around after that and managed to get a 44-33 lead.

The game itself was a derby in the first two periods. Greece would stretch the lead but Argentina always found ways to come back. Even in the third period when the Greek players were leading by 17 points, Argentina dropped the difference to 2 points.

However, everything went well for the Greek national team which won the match and ranked first in its Group.
