The European Union warned today against the possibility of restarting the fighting by highlighting the immediate need for reconstruction, which however made clear that will not intend to participate unless certain conditions are fulfilled.
As almost everything needs to be build from scratch after the tremendous disaster during the 50 day war, two senior diplomats highlighted that the EU’s participation on the reconstruction will depend on certain rules that the Israelis and the Palestinians will have to fulfill. Mainly to provide an outline of a permanent ceasefire as well as the return of Palestinian authorities in Gaza.
