The responsibility of today’s air strike against an armed group near the capital of Tripoli claimed the forces of general Khalifa Haftar which last May declared war on the Islamists in Libya.
According to residents of Garian testimonies and reports by Libyan media, a fighter aircraft hit a military base with anti-government rebels in Misurata city, which is controlled by Islamists. The news agency Lana reported that an ammunition depot was hit, while the private television channel Al Nabaa spoke of 11 wounded.
The rebels of Garian belong to the Fatzr Libby (“Dawn of Libya”)organization, which at the end of August took control of Tripoli after six weeks of intense conflict and after expelled from the international airport of the capital of its opponents.
Forces of Fatzr Libby has received air strikes as well during last month. USA blame the United Arab Emirates and Egypt for the attacks.
However, analysts doubt that Haftar’s power are able to launch attacks from air bases in eastern Libya as they have only limited capacity and very old aircrafts, many of which have suffered serious damage since the 2011 civil war.

Many diplomats fear that Libya once again is being converted into a war zone and that is in danger of sinking into chaos oc a civil war.
The government is unable to control the dozens of groups of former rebels who helped in 2011, but are now fighting each other for power and a share of oil revenues.
Haftar forces have threatened even that will bombard the port of Benghazi, if the local authorities do not close it on their own, in order to stop supplying the Islamists.
“We will bomb any ship approaching the coast and we will blame the head of the harbour” warned Tzourasi.
