Confident that the day after european elections, SYRIZA will have a problem, appeared PM Antonis Samaras in an interview on Ant1 TV channel, unleashing a fierce attack on SYRIZA president Alexis Tsipras.

The PM was satisfied with yesterday’s announcement of the Eurogroup, and showed no concern of Mr. Evangelos Venizelos’ recent statements.

Mr. Samaras, hinted however that he needs Tsipras’ consent for three things: First, so that there is not going to be uncertainty on whether the country will remain in the Eurozone, secondly, to elect a Speaker of the House from the existing Parliament without the need for elections, and third, to revise the Constitution.

Mr. Samaras categorically ruled out any new memoranda or new measures and assured that there will be no new taxes or reductions of pensions. The primary surplus, as he added, is increasing in Greece. The last outstanding matter is the debt, as Mr. Samaras stated, and that will be taken care of by the end of the summer.

The Prime Minister mentioned structural changes saying that “Reforms are everywhere and we are changing everything”. On unemployment, he stated that we have gone past a turning point and its reduction has begun.
