The body of an unknown man was discovered by chance early on Wednesday in a garbage bag next to a bin at Egaleo, a western Attica suburb.

The body was found half burned by the Fire Brigade in its attempt to put out a fire at a garbage bin.

According to preliminary information, the unknown perpetrators had cut off the hands of the victim at the wrist, to prevent its identification.

Police also estimates that they carried it to the spot where they set fire to the bin to cover their traces.
