The Bulgarian ministry says it has taken steps to find alternatives to gas supplies

Newsroom April 27 12:16

Following the announcement that Gazprom will cut off Russian gas supplies to Bulgaria on Wednesday morning, neighbors will reportedly meet demand through extra loads of LNG (liquefied natural gas) from Revythousa, Greece.

According to information from the Greek side, the Bulgarians are determined to increase the quantities of lignite in the energy mixture, to fill the gaps, while they are not going to increase the quantities of gas they use.

“We are holding our own meetings on both the energy efficiency plan and the high prices plan”, said the same sources.

Earlier, Russia’s Gazprom informed Bulgarian state-owned gas distribution company Bulgargaz that it would cut off gas supplies from Wednesday, the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy announced.

The Bulgarian ministry says it has taken steps to find alternatives to gas supplies.
