27th Panorama of European Cinema to be held in Athens in October

This year the Panorama of European Cinema offers 10 free tickets per screening for those currently unemployed.

The longest-running film festival in Athens returns for the 27th consecutive year, between October 16-26, 2014 much to the delight of local cinephines.

70 films from the European and International cinematography will be screened at Asti and Aavora cinemas in a period of two weeks.

The film “Queen and Country” directed by acclaimed British director John Boorman will open the festival on October 16 at Asti cinema.

The highly anticipated sequel of “Hope and Glory” was also selected to be screened as part of the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

 

Αmong the European films to take part in the competition section are “The Smell of Us” by Larry Clark and the “Incompresa” by Asia Argento.

In its 27 years of existence, the Panorama of European Cinema has hosted and awarded many important personalities of the world of cinema, such as Francis Ford Coppola, Michelangelo Antognoni, Arthur Penn, Harold Pinter, Ken Loach, Christopher Lee, the Monty Pythons, Wim Wenders, Costas Gavras, Steven Frears, the brothers Taviani, Emir Kusturica and others.

General Entry Fee: 5€

Festival Pass valid for 10 screenings: 30€

Free tickets for the unemployed

This year the Panorama of European Cinema offers 10 free tickets per screening for those currently unemployed. These tickets will be available at the theatres, 45 minutes before the beginning of each screening and in order of demand until they run out. To claim this offer, one must present to the theatre his valid unemployment card and his identity card. Each person can claim one ticket per screening.
