The ruling New Democracy (ND) holds a 7.5-point lead over the main opposition party SYRIZA, according to a Marc poll.

The results of the poll were presented on the main bulletin of ANT1 and also showed that PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis leads with 16.6 points over Alexis Tsipras for the prime ministership, while the percentage of citizens who want a government with an absolute majority after the elections appears to have increased.

On the question of who the respondents intended to vote for if elections were held, ND had 32.7% (from 32.5%) and SYRIZA stood at 25.2% (from 24.6%). Both major parties show an increase in their voter galvanisation- ND at 71.5% and SYRIZA at 68.2%.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis gets 48.7% as the most suitable choice for prime minister, with Alexis Tsipras at 32.1%. The prime minister remains first in popularity with 47.3% of positive opinions, with Alexis Tsipras at 32.6% and Nikos Androulakis at 30.6%.

The majority (32.6%) of respondents want an ND government with an absolute majority in Parliament – a percentage that also shows the “threshold” of the ruling party, while only 16.5% want an absolute majority SYRIZA government. On the contrary, 19.8% want a coalition government with SYRIZA at the core – this is the narrative of “progressive governance” – and 16.5% a government of cooperation with the ND at the core. At the same time, Marc’s Thomas Gerakis told ANT1 that the percentage of those who want absolute-majority governments is increasing in every measurement.
