Three amazing actresses with Greek roots and famous fathers prove that sometimes the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston gained worldwide recognition as Rachel Green on “Friends”. Despite drowning in U.S. awards, she has never forgotten her Greek roots. Her godfather is Telly Savalas – yes, Kojac! Her father is John Aniston (born Giannis Anastasakis), an actor who is well known for his role as Victor Kiriakis in “Days of Our Lives”. She has great memories of Greece as she lived in the country for a year before her parents went to New York and subsequently divorced.

Jennifer attributes her youthful looks to her Cretan roots and Greek DNA. Not only that, but rumors recently blazed through the press about her planning a big, fat Greek wedding with Justin Theroux. Since then, she’s denied the rumors but you never know. After all, the couple still haven’t set any definite plans!

The daughter of legendary Kojac, Ariana Savalas, is treading in his footsteps and leaving her mark as a talented actress with a beautiful voice. She toured Europe as a pop singer and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Her father passed away when she was just seven years of age, however her mother kept his memory alive in her heart. “At home, my father used to speak to us in English, but my mother learnt fluent Greek thanks to her love for him,” she says.

Audiences will be able to watch her in the upcoming film, “As Greek as it Gets”.

Zoe Kazan

Zoe Kazan, the granddaughter of Elia Kazan, has been influenced by his presence during her upbringing.

From an early age, she acquired a passion for Greek Mythology stating that Greek myths were her “first religion” and she remembers these tales as part of her spiritual training – something primal and innate rather than learnt. She recently climbed to notoriety when her nude photos were hacked.

Audiences will be able to enjoy her performance as Rebecca Porter in a paranormal romance, titled “In Your Eyes.”
