Jihadists “eleven commandments” for journalists

The list was circulated by one of the journalists who remained in the territory of the Islamic State

An independent news website “Syria Deeply “released a list of guidelines and rules that Jihadists give to journalists.
Wall Street Journal notes that according to the websites information, these rules were given to press representatives in the boundaries of the Islamic State, in Deir Al Jury of Syria. A local journalist managed to sent the list to news website “Syria Deeply ” and stated that he received the document from the press office of the Islamic State.

According to these eleven “commandments”:

1. The correspondents must swear faith to the Caliphate. They are considered of being objects belonging to the Islamic State and as objects, they have to swear loyalty to the imam.

2. Their work will be done under the exclusive supervision of officials of the Islamic State press office.

3. Journalists can cooperate directly with international news agencies, but should avoid any international and local satellite, television network. It is forbidden to submit exclusive content or have any contact, visual or audio, while they are captives.

4. They are prohibited to work in any way with or for any “black listed” networks by the Islamic State, as Al-Arabiya, Al Jazeera and Orient. Any violators will be held directly accountable.

5. They are allowed to cover events in writing or with photos without consulting in advance with the press office of the Islamic State. In any transmitted material the name of the journalist and the photographer must beclearly stated in writing.

6. They are not allowed to publish any report without first getting the approval of the press office of the Islamic State.

7. Journalists can publish their profiles on social networks reportage, but have all their accounts to be made available to the IR.

8. Taking pictures of the Islamic State, must comply with regulations and not to record locations or events where that is prohibited.

9. The officers of the press office of the Islamic State will monitor the work of journalists while they are in their land, and any violation of the rules will result in their dismissal and the journalist will report to the authorities.

10. These regulations are not final and changes can be made at any time, depending on the circumstances and the degree of cooperation of officials with reporters.

11. Journalists can get a license to practice their profession after submitting an application to the press office of the Islamic State.
