The Antetokounmpo family is always on the lookout for new investments which is why Giannis, Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex through their flagship company have joined forces with Hellenic Wineries, a holding company that in 2022 acquired Boutari Wineries, one of the most iconic wine companies in Greece with more than 100 years of presence and most recently the natural mineral water IOLI.
“I want to be a businessman,” he had stated in an interview. Now, their new business venture has been announced as they are investing in Hellenic Wineries through the company Ante Inc.
The Antetokounmpo family will acquire approximately 10% of Hellenic Wineries, driven by their deep interest in agriculture, their passion for exporting Greek products internationally, and their desire to support the development of a historic sector such as winemaking.
The Antetokounmpos’ decision reflects their commitment to making a positive impact on Greece. By supporting the development of the wine and bottled water industry, they are ensuring the preservation of the traditional and culturally important product sector that has been part of Greece’s heritage for centuries.
The partnership between the Antetokounmpo family and Hellenic Wineries aims to transform the Greek wine and bottled water industry with a global vision.
Giannis Antetokounmpo said “I am delighted about the investment and our partnership with Elias Georgiades. Together we will be able to develop companies with a history that produce natural products of the Greek land, such as wine and natural mineral water.”
Elias Georgiadis, CEO of Sterner Stenhus and a major shareholder of HELLENIC Wineries made the following statement “We are particularly pleased to welcome the Antetokounmpo family to HELLENIC Wineries, which produces and markets BOUTARI wines and IOLI water. By joining forces, our strategic goal of spreading Greek products such as wine on an international level and wine tourism in our country is strengthened”.
