Greeks support green enterprise

The study carried out in the framework of the 7th Innovation and Growth Conference being held this weekend shows that most Greeks see that "green" enterprise signals growth and employment

More than half of Greeks consider “green” enterprise a solution for growth says a survey by Kapa Research conducted on behalf of web TV channel ka-business.gr. The survey, carried out ahead of the 7th Innovation and Growth Conference being held in Thessaloniki on Saturday and Sunday (Oct 10-11) is based on a sample of 808 adults around Greece. It shows that 56% of tose questioned see green business as growth and a solution to youth unemployment, whereas 63.8% said they would pay extra for something f they knew that it was environmentally friendly. More than half (55.4%) said that they would agree or probably agree to protests against investments if these are harmful to the environment. 56.8% would like to see tax reductions and 41.1% would support loan access and lower-interest loans for green business. Despite the evident support for green businesses, 83% of tose asked have not considered in investing in green economy activities. 45.2% of those who have considered investment in solar energy, 25% considered investments in recycling and 15.3% in alternative tourism.

Findings also showed a preference for support policies but not subsidies for green economy business.
