Playboy severs ties with Mia Khalifa after her pro-Hamas posts

The ex-porn star called Hamas freedom fighters

Newsroom October 10 06:49

Playboy magazine has terminated its ties with porn star and internet content creator Mia Khalifa after the former porn star shared a social media post in which she emphatically expressed her support for Hamas and urged terrorists to film their attacks.

The adult magazine announced its decision to “go its separate ways” with Khalifa in an email to its subscribers late Monday.

“We are writing today to inform you of our decision to terminate Playboy’s relationship with Mia Khalifa, including the deletion of Mia’s channel on our platform,” the “Playboy team” wrote in the email. “Mia has made disgusting and reprehensible comments that glorify Hamas attacks on Israel and the murder of innocent men, women, and children,” the email continued.” At Playboy, we encourage free expression and constructive political discussion, but we have a zero-tolerance policy for hate,” the magazine’s team added in the message.

Her social media post glorifying Hamas terrorists following the group’s surprise attack against Israel on Saturday caused a strong backlash.  The attack left at least 900 people dead.

“Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to turn their cell phones around so they can shoot horizontal videos?” the former pornographic film actress and current influencer wrote on Oct. 7 on X. “I just want to make sure there is enough 4k footage of my people tearing down the walls of the open prison they were forced to live in after being kicked out of their homes so we have plenty of options for the history books,” she added, explaining the “rationale” behind her “advice.”

In a… light-hearted mood, Kalifa described the shocking developments in Israel as “an attack on the Zionist apartheid regime by rebels wearing fake Gucci shirts”. She also posted the photo of terrorists on a van, writing that it reminded her of a “Renaissance painting”.

Following the outrage, Kalifa wrote “I just want to make it clear that this statement in no way shape or form is enticing spread of violence, I specifically said freedom fighters because that’s what the Palestinian citizens are… fighting for freedom every day”

Mia Kalifa, however, did not seem to be fazed by the termination: “I’d say supporting Palestine has lost me business opportunities, but I’m more angry at myself for not checking whether or not I was entering into business with Zionists. My bad,” she wrote in a new post.
