Conde Nast Traveler: which Greek islands are “voted” for 2024

Navigating the charms and trends of Greece's destinations for 2024"

Newsroom February 5 11:19

“It is no coincidence that the Greek islands were a source of inspiration for Lord Byron,” Conde Nast Traveler points out at the beginning of its annual list of the 29 best island destinations for 2024.

Leading the pack are Milos, Hydra, and Sifnos, with Santorini claiming the spotlight as the ultimate wedding haven. Syros emerges for its rich cultural tapestry, Folegandros for its allure of adventure, and Crete for seekers of thrilling escapades.

Corfu and Naxos stand out for their distinctive gastronomy and sun-kissed shores, while Kefalonia beckons with tranquil family retreats. Andros caters to avid hikers and those seeking secluded beaches, Serifos captivates nature enthusiasts, and Mykonos ensures unforgettable moments of revelry.

Following closely are the striking Zakynthos, the endless blue allure of Amorgos, the sophisticated charms of Paxi, and the explorer’s haven, Lefkada. Ithaca, Tinos, and the mystical Patmos, adorned with its unique historical and religious monuments, add a touch of timeless allure.

Rhodes invites a journey through history, Symi captivates with its picturesque charm, and Astypalaia beckons for quality escapes away from bustling crowds.

Rounding off the list are Skiathos, ideal for beachside reading, Aegina, a year-round haven, dreamy Kastelorizo, Antiparos offering a holiday with panoramic views, architecturally rich Leros, and perennially chic Spetses.

Representatives from these featured destinations share insights on travel experiences that align with the trends of the new season:

“Patmos offers a multi-dimensional tourism experience, leaving an indelible mark on both Greek and international travelers. Its impressive Chora, the Monastery of St. John the Theologian, and the Holy Cave of the Apocalypse are UNESCO monuments of global renown and profound historical significance.
