The Chairman of House Intelligence Committee Mike Turner, has made information about a “serious national security threat” available for all members of Congress to review, the committee said Wednesday, without specifying what the information is about.
Turner’s letter speaks of a “destabilising foreign military capability.”
CNN, citing two sources and a US official, reported, however, that the threat is related to Russia.
Several sources with knowledge of the information described it as “very sensitive”.
In fact, as one source said, it is in fact an extremely worrying and destabilising Russian capability that “we have recently been made aware of”.
Members of Congress will see this information from Wednesday through Friday.

Additionally, Turner called on President Joe Biden to declassify all information related to this threat.
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said, however, that he had personally contacted to set up a meeting with top members of the national security committees before Turner publicly warned of what he called a “serious threat.”
He made it known that the “special committee of eight” consisting of top members of both factions had been convened and that they would be briefed by him this Thursday in detail on the issue.
But he too refused to elaborate on the nature of the threat and give further details.
