A fire broke out shortly after 4 PM on Sunday (June 30) in Stamata, Dionysos, in a forested area.
The fire is near homes, and aerial units, ground forces, and earth-moving machines have rushed to the scene, with strong winds complicating the firefighting efforts.
At 5:47 PM, another warning message was sent from “112,” informing residents of the wider area that smoke is moving towards Dionysos.
“If you are in the Dionysos area, stay indoors, close doors and windows, and follow the authorities’ instructions,” the message stated.
Shortly after 5:30 PM, the main front was located above the Stamata cemetery, with winds blowing towards Rodopoli.
Additionally, before 5:30 PM, “112” messages were sent to residents in the Galini area to evacuate via Stamata Avenue towards Drosia and to those in Rodopoli to evacuate via Stamata Avenue towards Drosia.
Earlier, a message was sent from “112” for the evacuation of Amigdaleza via Stamata Avenue towards Stamata Square.
At the same time, according to reports, EKAB (National Emergency Center) received a call about a possible burn victim in the Stamata area. The police informed EKAB and mentioned smoke inhalation.
