Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Thursday warmly endorsed the candidacy of Yiannis Ioannidis for Central Macedonia regional governor, during his visit to a worksite for a road bypass at Panteleimonas in Pieria, designed to avoid the bends on the road to Platamonas.
“I call on you to support Yiannis Ioannidis for Central Macedonia regional governor,” the prime minister said, calling Ioannidis “a symbol of northern Greece”.
“I want you to know that this is the position of the because we truly believe that Yiannis can do it, as he has proven in the past, rising above party politics, above and beyond individuals, he will do what he always does, with great success. With the right tactics and with the right heart put into the effort, in order to unite all Greeks,” Samaras said.
Ioannidis accompanied the prime minister in his car to and fro Thessaloniki to Platamonas, giving them an opportunity to discuss the upcoming local elections battle and issues concerning Central Macedonia.
