The 80-year-old, who was brought to court today and given a deadline, is charged with the capital felony charge of arson with intent to commit arson, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

The elderly man is accused of being the culprit for three fires that broke out on Sunday afternoon, almost simultaneously, in Glyka Nera, within 100 meters of each other, as well as for another one in the evening of the same day.

According to evidence, from video footage authorities have collected against him, the 80-year-old appears to have been throwing flaming objects into dry grass, moving around in his car.
