The iconic archaeologist appeared with the fedora hat in the 1984 film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and it was also worn by his stuntman, Dean Ferrandini, who owned it. According to the auction house, the initial estimate was between $250,000 and $500,000.

Made by the Herbert Johnson Hat Company in London, the fedora features the gold initials “IJ” inside. According to the description, maintaining its shape during filming was a “constant challenge.” The film was directed by Steven Spielberg, with Kate Capshaw and Jonathan Ke Quan starring alongside Ford.

Other items sold at the auction included the white helmet used in the 1983 Star Wars film Return of the Jedi, which fetched $315,000, and a costume worn by the protagonists of the 1996 film Scream, which sold for $270,900, as reported by AP.
