Α new cultural trek titled “Nafplion Globally Yours” will be launched soon by Geo Routes Cultural Institute, a non profit & nongovernmental organization which offers experiential cultural and environmental journeys held under the auspices of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.

The trek, drawn up in collaboration with the Municipality of Nafplion, will introduce visitors to the historic town’s rich cultural heritage which dates back to the Middle Ages and 1823, when it became the first capital of the newly born Greek State.

One of the most beautiful towns in the Peloponnese, as well as one of the most romantic cities all over Greece, Nafplion bears the mark of Frankish, Venetian and Turkish conquerors who strongly influenced its culture, architecture and traditions during the centuries.

Ancient walls, medieval castles, monuments and statues, Ottoman fountains and Venetian or neoclassical buildings mesmerize the visitor with their unique architecture and beauty.

“Nafplion Globally Yours” is part of Geo Routes “Our Greece Globally Yours” campaign, presented last year to diplomats and foreign missions.
