On Monday afternoon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the citizens of Iran, stating that “the regime in Tehran does not care about them” and instead “funds terrorism and nuclear weapons.”
Netanyahu emphasized that “when Iran is finally free—and that moment will come much sooner than people think—everything will change. Our two ancient peoples, the Jewish people and the Persian people, will finally experience peace.”
Earlier in the day, Tehran distanced itself from the situation in southern Lebanon, with the Iranian Foreign Ministry asserting that the country has no intention of sending troops and that the Lebanese government is fully capable of confronting Israel on its own.
