8th Avant-Garde Film Festival has begun in Athens

Featuring tributes to distinguished filmmakers, the international competition section, special screenings and parallel events

The 8th Athens Avant-Garde Film Festival, organized by the Greek Film Archive, has opened on November 12 and is scheduled to run until November 26, 2014.

It is the 9th event organized by the Greek Film Archive in the framework of the project Cinephilia in the New Age (Regional Operational Programme of Attica / ROP Attica 2007-2013) of the NSRF.

The Festival takes place under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and it aims to investigate the new modalities of Avant Garde in the new millennium by focusing on the experimental cinema, auteurism and independent cinema.
